A Message from our
Worshipful Master
On behalf of the Brothers of Toussaint Louverture Lodge #524, we welcome you! We invite you to explore our site and be enriched with what we contribute to the community. Through Freemasonry, we make true friends, improve ourselves, and have a positive impact on our communities.
Since December 14, 1916, the Free and Accepted Masons of our lodge have sought to unite good men of all backgrounds. We strive to make them better husbands, fathers, brothers, and citizens by encouraging each other and developing them into better men. It is the personal mission of every brother of Toussaint Louverture Lodge #524 to enhance the community in which we live by demonstrating and emulating the principles of Brotherly Love, Charity, and Sympathy for our fellow neighbors and families.
Toussaint L'Ouverture Lodge #524 has a proud and distinguished heritage. Throughout the years, we have undertaken many charitable projects and civic involvement. We have received many awards for outstanding service to our community and craft. We are committed to the principles of Free Masonry. Our lodge stands today as a symbol of pride within our community. Having the courage, wisdom, and faith begun with our forefathers, peace and harmony prevail within our lodge. Toussaint was home to the Freedom Riders and the Wilmington Ten during the time of the Civil Rights Movement, including people such as Brother Ben Chavis, Past Master Brother Milton Fisk, and others.
Since 1916, our Lodge has enhanced and strengthened the character of individual men by providing opportunities for fellowship, charity, and the search for certainty—inside ourselves and the world. Freemasonry is the world’s greatest and first fraternal organization. The true belief in masonry is that all people have a chance to make our world a better place.
Freemasonry means something different and is interpreted in different ways by all who are involved. For the vast majority, it is a place to make lifelong friends and acquaintances. For others it is a safe place to enjoy developed conversations about current and world events. Some may call it a home away from home where they can enjoy like-minded individuals. Through each of these reasons and more we strive to make our lodge and world safer than when we found it.
Currently, the world now needs more than ever the structure, support and leadership that Freemasonry can provide and has provided for years in the community. Younger men and women are looking for direction and assistance with leading them down positive paths in life. Freemasonry creates Men that stand for truth, integrity and have gained the respect from the community. Men who live with virtue and character, always striving to be even better.
NOT JUST A MAN. A MASON.
Respectfully
Anthony Graves, Worshipful Master
